Fusion Glass Art
Fusion Glass Art
I enjoyed the personal relationships of my career as a manager and accountant, but creativity was not part of the equation. After retirement I pursued artistic endeavors and found glass fusion to be the perfect blend of creative thought and physical activity to bring about form and beauty to my art.
As a tactile person, the pursuit of handling and making glass art satisfies all of my senses. From conception, to color choices and design, the process to bring a piece of glass to completion includes cutting, shaping, fusing and cold working to enhance the beauty of the glass.
I choose a glass design from what I observe in my daily life. Often, seeing something of beauty will trigger a desire to capture the feeling in glass. It can involve color, design or a relationship of images. For example, flying in an airplane over cities I was struck by the similarity of design to printed circuit boards, and sought to ca
I choose a glass design from what I observe in my daily life. Often, seeing something of beauty will trigger a desire to capture the feeling in glass. It can involve color, design or a relationship of images. For example, flying in an airplane over cities I was struck by the similarity of design to printed circuit boards, and sought to capture the idea in my next glass design. Ideas come from everywhere in life!
In February 2024, a piece of my glass art called "Community" was accepted by the gallery for display in the: Piece of Me" online Group Art exhibition.
The glass sculpture called "Community" was inspired by the connections that we all share. Every piece touches and affects the others. Whatever one piece does, all others are made stronger by the connection and enhances our co-operation and togetherness.
The inspiration for this sculpture was my personal experiences shared with the dedicated people of the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs.
It sure is fun having one's art displayed in Times Square
My kilns may not be large, but having this large image displayed in Times Square, New York is pretty exciting.

All the fused glass that was available at the show is documented below under Portfolio
This past summer a piece of my glass work was sold at Sumi's to a Prop Master. The fun thing was that I was required to sign a document giving permission for this item to be shown on a TV Show. I do not know the Show, nor as to how the piece will be used, but imagine a comedy situation where this is purchased by an unsuspecting husband who is unaware that his wife is making glass. Imagine the comedy situations that could follow.
I am delighted to inform you that I have recently been accepted into the Studio Channel Islands Art Gallery and the Desert Arts Center Fine Art Gallery where my glass work is available for sale in the Gallery stores.
Both of these organizations require that your work be submitted for Jury consideration.
